The first three quarters of Saturday's wild-card game between the Chargers and Texans were not exactly a clinic in great quarterback play or offensive football.

It wound up in the hands of the Houston Texans’ Eric Murry and the home team was up 14 after the pick-six and PAT. The Chargers scored the first six points of the wild-card game but Houston responded with the next 20.

The Texans were strong up front with Will Anderson Jr. and in the secondary with Derek Stingley Jr. but had some inconsistencies in the middle.

In terms of future talks, the Texans can push it back by exercising the fifth-year club option. If they do that, it could just be to create more time for talks and create a placeholder for his deal. The Texans want to stay in business with Stingley for years and years to come. Both sides are properly motivated.
